Travel in complete peace of mind

Sourire To leave for your trip in complete peace of mind, remember to check certain aspects of your travel arrangements (baggage, administrative formalities, etc.).

Excess-baggage charges

Caution: Since March 2010, a new excess-baggage policy has been introduced! The sum charged for this second item of baggage can be high – make sure you obtain all the necessary information from your airline.

To avoid paying very high excess-baggage charges, send your baggage or a parcel that you have prepared via air cargo… a simple solution that can prove to be a lot less costly.

More information is available from the Airport’s Cargo Department on +33 (0)5 59 33 33 00 or by e-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Administrative formalities

Carefully check the expiry date of your identity documents! You will not be allowed to check in if your identity document is not valid for  certain destinations !

For domestic flights within France (excluding Corsica and French overseas départements and territories): valid photo-ID document (passport, national identity card, driving licence or family record book for accompanied minors).

For international flights within the European Union: national identity card or passport (even if it is expired, but this must be by less than 5 years).

For international flights to destinations outside the European Union: valid passport, visa (if necessary).

For more information, contact your travel agency or the airline concerned.

Travelling with a minor

For minors travelling with their parents (or a person with parental authority) : valid passport or national identity card

For unaccompanied Minors (UMs) - or minors accompanied by a person who does not have parental authority : a valid national identity card more an authorization "sortie de territoire" for international flights or passport in his/her name

These administrative formalities are measures aimed at protecting minors and are essential for all journeys !

For more information, contact the airline concerned

Travelling to the USA

From now on, before embarking on a journey to or via the USA, you will first have to obtain an "ESTA" travel authorisation. This document is also mandatory for minors.
The cost of an application for an ESTA authorisation is 14 dollars

This is a decision that was made by the American authorities in order to strengthen security mesures.
The payment linked to the application for an ESTA authorisation is made by credit or debit card when you fill in the application form or submit previously saved application information.
An application for an ESTA authorisation can only be made on the internet.

To apply for an ESTA authorisation, you must go to the following website: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/ and follow the instructions given to answer the questions asked.
